About Philip Tate Strategic Communications

Philip Tate Strategic Communications, LLC, helps businesses, educational institutions, nonprofits and professional organizations communicate with clarity, purpose and confidence.

Led by Philip Tate, APR, Fellow PRSA, the Charlotte-based consultancy brings more than 35 years of experience in public relations, marketing, brand development and organizational communications. Philip works directly with senior leaders and communications teams to define challenges, sharpen positioning and develop strategies that can be put into practice.

His work may begin with a communications audit, a difficult media question, an important announcement or the realization that an organization’s story no longer reflects where it is headed. In each case, the goal is the same: understand what matters, identify the strongest path forward and communicate in a way that earns attention and trust.

Philip’s experience spans agency, corporate, higher education, nonprofit and sports organizations. He has advised organizations including National Gypsum, Butterball, Lincoln Harris, Rodgers Builders, UNC Charlotte and Western Carolina University. His current work also includes executive counsel, media training, thought-leadership development, professional writing and editing and communications planning.

A collaborative senior marketing and communications leader, Philip offers careful listening, candid advice and senior-level attention without layers of account management.
